Site Alignment Punch-List — jacobdart.com → the plan
The business plan is the source of truth. This is the set of changes made to bring the live site (jacobdart.com) into conformance with it. Reviewed 2026-07-02 against the site copy captured that day.
STATUS: APPLIED & DEPLOYED 2026-07-02. All four changes below are live on jacobdart.com. Source edited in
novajaialai/jacobdart(private canonical), deployed tonovajaialai/jmai-site(public, GitHub Pages) viatools/deploy.sh. Verified live: hero reads “built with you”; guarantee reads “ship in the first week … 5+ hours … free.”
Where the site already matches the plan (keep as-is): the “operating system” positioning, the owner-operator audience, the problem framing (lives in your head / busy not free / tools don’t talk / demo isn’t a system), Node Zero proof, value-based/no-lock-in language, the $999 → Concierge → Custom Build ladder, the J&M navy/Fraunces brand, and the 30-min discovery CTA. Two site ideas were adopted into the plan (they were better than the plan’s originals): crediting the Assessment forward, and the $1.5–2.5k Concierge band.
Changes required (site → plan)
1. Concierge: make it explicitly done-WITH-you ⬅ the important one
The site’s Concierge reads as done-for-you-with-onboarding (“we build and ship… onboard you on each”), and the site-wide narrative says “You don’t build it; you just end up owning it.” The plan’s Concierge is done-with-you: two 45-min screen-shared working sessions/month where you build together, so the client owns the know-how, not just the systems. That “run it without me” ownership is the moat and the referral engine.
- Concierge card copy → something like: “We build your systems with you — two 45-minute working sessions a month, screen-shared, hands-on. You own the systems and the know-how, so it runs without me. New system shipped, logged, and refined every month.”
- Keep the DFY promise where it belongs — the Custom Build card (“built for you, you own all of it”). Two clearly distinct modes, not one blurred one.
- Resolve the contradiction in the “How it works” / “What you walk away with” sections: the line “You don’t build it; you just end up owning it” describes the Custom Build, not the whole offer. Either scope that line to the Build, or soften the site-wide narrative so it doesn’t contradict the with-you Concierge.
2. Guarantee: tighten to the plan’s version
- Site now: “If we can’t find at least three hours a week worth automating… the $999 assessment is on me.”
- Change to (plan-canonical): “If we don’t find at least one fix you can ship in 7 days that recovers 5+ hours a week, the Assessment is free.”
- Why: ship in 7 days is more falsifiable than find, and 5+ hrs is the plan’s number. Same “on me” spirit — keep that.
3. Add a concrete-outcomes touch (for local/SMB buyers)
The site is abstract (“skills, spine, dashboards”). A plumber or dentist won’t see their leak. Add a short “systems we commonly build” strip with named outcomes from the delivery plans — e.g. missed-call text-back, instant lead follow-up, AI receptionist, review engine, quote-in-2-minutes. Keeps the elegant framing but gives concrete buyers a hook (05-delivery-plans/ has all of these).
4. Add a light qualification signal
The plan targets established businesses (~$30k/month+ with a visible fixable leak). The site invites everyone. Add one qualifier — e.g. in the “Who is this for?” FAQ: “Best fit: established owner-operators doing ~$30k/month or more who are still stuck in the day-to-day.” Filters low-fit leads before they book.
Already consistent (no change)
- Assessment credited forward ✅ (site had it first; plan adopted it)
- Concierge $1.5–2.5k/mo ✅ (site had it; plan adopted it)
- Product name “The Assessment” ✅ (plan renamed to match the live site)
Deploy note
Applied 2026-07-02. Edited the private canonical source (novajaialai/jacobdart), previewed locally, committed, and ran tools/deploy.sh — which mirrors the public file set to novajaialai/jmai-site (the repo GitHub Pages serves at jacobdart.com) and pushes. Pages rebuilt and the changes are live. Re-run tools/deploy.sh from the jacobdart repo after any future source edit.
